10 Ways to Reuse Halloween Candy - West Knox Moms

Did your kids bring home more candy than you know what to do with? Did you buy too much candy and not get many trick-or-treaters? Check out these great ways you can reuse or repurpose Halloween candy over the next few months!

      1.

      1. S’Mores Night!
Chocolate bars, Reese’s, and KitKats make for great s’mores during this fall season
      2. Holiday Baking
Upgrade your cookies, brownies, or cakes with some candy on top or mixed inside! Check out this recipe from BakerMama for cookie dough using Halloween candy!
      3. Stocking Stuffers
Put some candy inside the stockings for a fun surprise on Christmas morning

    1. 4. Advent Calendar
If your child has an advent calendar, you can put a little piece in for a daily sweet treat during the advent season.
      5. Pinata
Have a birthday party or celebration coming up? Save money on stuffing the pinata by using extra Halloween candy that you already have!
      6. Gingerbread Houses
This is a personal favorite! M&Ms, licorice, tootsie rolls, sour patch kids, or gummy bears can all be used on gingerbread houses. It’s extra fun to see how creative you can get with what candy you have.
    2. 7. Science Experiments
Skittles are extra fun for science experiments to see how the colors spread! Check out this science experiment using skittles!
      8. Freeze for later
Many candies can be frozen to be used at a later date. Freeze them in their wrappers
      9. Switch Witch
This has become very popular lately, especially for children with allergies or younger kids. You place your candy outside and the “switch witch” will swap it out for allergy-safe candy or a toy.
      10. Donate
If none of the other options work for you, you can consider donating your extra candy. Schools, churches, or local programs might accept donated candy for other children.
